OwnID builds passwordless, passkey-first login: users skip the password and confirm with face or fingerprint on their phone, and developers add it through an API. Founded in 2020 by Dor Shany and Rooly Eliezerov, both from the founding team of Gigya (sold to SAP in 2017), it raised a $6.2M seed round led by Mayfield in 2022. Brazilian identity company Unico acquired OwnID in September 2025.
